Pamlico County skates past Jones with ease

Recap: Pamlico County Hurricanes vs. Jones Trojans

The Pamlico County Hurricanes were handed a three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Jones Trojans on Thursday. Pamlico County took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 52-19 victory over Jones. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Pamlico County has posted against Jones since January 15, 2021.

Pamlico County found their leader in underclassman Nya Clark, who scored 24 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. Kyliyah Barber was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight steals.

Jones' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aariel Jemison, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Brown, who scored five points along with six rebounds.

Pamlico County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Jones, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Southside the next time they take the court. Jones will head out to face Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pamlico County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
