Recap: Salinas vs. San Benito

After flying high against Gilroy last Friday, Salinas came back down to earth. It was a hard-fought match, but Salinas had to settle for a 28-35 loss against San Benito on Friday. Salinas' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

On a positive note, junior Carl Richardson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for 442 yards and 4 touchdowns. Junior Carl Richardson has made a name for himself in Salinas' last nine games, proving himself to be a reliable offensive weapon. Senior Zachary Robison was in the mix, too, providing Salinas with three touchdowns.

The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Salinas will stay at home next week against Aptos at 7:30 PM. Aptos have averaged 35 points over the course of their past nine games, so Salinas might be in for a challenge. As for San Benito, they will go up against Palma. Both of these red-hot teams will try to put the other on ice to keep their winning streaks alive.
