While Escondido Charter didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Mountain Empire Redhawks by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

OLIVE JOHNSON paced Escondido Charter's offense, picking up five kills. JOHNSON got some help from SIERRA MATTERS and her nine assists. RAHA BABAIAN controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Several Redhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Breeza Valdez, who had 12 digs, six blocks, and three aces. Bibi Caceres was another key player, getting five kills and four blocks.

Escondido Charter's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Mountain Empire, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Escondido Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against El Camino on the 9th. As for Mountain Empire, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Southwest EC on the 9th.
