Football Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

Seymour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 55-21 defeat at the hands of the Tahoka Bulldogs.

Avery Parrish threw for 83 yards and one TD. Matthew Strickland was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards and one score.

Dante Garcia continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tahoka, throwing for 142 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes, while also rushing for 55 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Garcia a new career-high in passer rating (100.5). Uzziah Martinez was another key player, rushing for 137 yards and one score while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.

Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tahoka, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seymour will head out to take on Windthorst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Tahoka, they will venture away from home to face off against Grape Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
