Basketball Game Preview: Melrose Golden Wildcats vs. Wooddale Cardinals

For the first time this season, Melrose will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to face off against the Wooddale Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Melrose comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Thursday, Melrose lost to Power Center Academy at home by a 63-45 margin.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wooddale faced off against Fayette Ware on Saturday. The Cardinals took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 84-22. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-12.

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wooddale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Melrose came out on top in a nail-biter against Wooddale when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 58-55. Will the Golden Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
