Baseball Recap: Clare Gets the Win

While Clare's victory against Meridian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers skirted past the Mustangs 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since May 7, 2025.

Clare's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dane Alexander, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Blake Sian was another, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Clare kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Clare's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12-1.
