Volleyball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Mustangs vs. Green Valley Gators

Shadow Ridge is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will look to defend their home court against the Green Valley Gators at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shadow Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Coronado, who was ranked first at the time (Shadow Ridge was ranked second). Shadow Ridge fell just short of Coronado by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Shadow Ridge took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-16, 15-5.

Meanwhile, Green Valley suffered their biggest defeat since May 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Basic, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.

Green Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
