Basketball Game Preview: Bremen Braves vs. Comer Catamounts

The Bremen Braves and the Comer Catamounts will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bremen has three straight victories, Comer has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, it was close, but Bremen sidestepped Sandburg for a 50-48 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Braves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the Eagles are ranked 243rd).

Meanwhile, Comer was beaten by Galesburg 70-35 on Saturday.

Bremen has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Comer, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Bremen couldn't quite finish off Comer in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 51-48. Can Bremen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
