Basketball Recap: High Plains Piles Up the Points Against Elba

A well-balanced attack led High Plains over Elba in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the High Plains Storm blew the Elba Bluejays out of the water with a 64-13 final score. That 51 point margin sets a new team best for the Storm this season.

High Plains got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Peyton Hofmann out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Hofmann a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Brown, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

High Plains was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elba only racked up three assists.

High Plains has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Elba, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

High Plains will square off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Meridian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while High Plains has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. As for Elba, they will welcome Heartland Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
