St. Augustine is a perfect 4-0 against Bonita Vista since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The St. Augustine Saints will take on the Bonita Vista Barons in a tournament on Friday. St. Augustine will be strutting in after a win while Bonita Vista will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Augustine barely beat Montgomery the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. St. Augustine never let Montgomery get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Saints as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

St. Augustine got a great performance from Ryan Popkins as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Popkins has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Kapono Nakanelua was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Drake Konja, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Bonita Vista came up short against Patrick Henry on Wednesday and fell 7-2. The Barons have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Bonita Vista also got a good showing from DEMARCO ROJAS, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Bonita Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KENSEN JOHNSON, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

St. Augustine's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Bonita Vista, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.

St. Augustine took their win against Bonita Vista when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3. Will St. Augustine repeat their success, or does Bonita Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
