Ryan Youngblood leads a balanced attack to beat Dayton

Recap: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Dayton Dust Devils

The Spring Creek Spartans's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-26 win over Dayton. The victory was just what Spring Creek needed coming off of a 49-24 loss in their prior game.

Spring Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Youngblood, who scored 16 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Youngblood has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Dimick, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.

Dayton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kennidi Smith, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Ayisha Agee who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Agee hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.

Dayton struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Spring Creek posted 12 assists.

Spring Creek's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Dayton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Spring Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fernley at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Fernley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Dayton, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Elko at 1:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Elko is ranked 48th, while Dayton is ranked 53rd).
