Baseball Game Preview: Wolfe City Wolves vs. Cooper Bulldogs

Wolfe City hasn't had much luck against Cooper recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The two teams will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m.

Wolfe City is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Cooper. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolves have suffered since April 17, 2024.

For Cooper's part, Courion Finney was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Cooper is undefeated when Finney posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

Cooper is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Wolfe City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
