Burbank dropped their record down to 8-12-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-0 to the Burroughs Bears. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
As for Burroughs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.
For Burroughs' part, not much got past Valentina Clemons, who gave up just four hits to keep Burbank off the board. Clemons has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Haven Vickers was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Centeno, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Burbank will venture away from home to face off against Arcadia at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Burroughs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
