Softball Recap: IDEA Edinburg College Prep Takes a Loss

IDEA Edinburg College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Monte Alto Blue Devil, falling 38-14. IDEA Edinburg College Prep was not able to make up for their loss to Monte Alto from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Angie Hernandez and Jasmine Rangel stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hernandez scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Rangel scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Brianna Alvarez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

IDEA Edinburg College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Monte Alto, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IDEA Edinburg College Prep will square off against Falfurrias at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monte Alto, they will challenge Hebbronville on Friday.
