Recap: Catalina Foothills Falcons vs. Mica Mountain Thunderbolts
The Catalina Foothills Falcons''s game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mica Mountain. Catalina Foothills gained 89 more yards on the day, but it was Mica Mountain that made the best of use of them.
When it comes to explaining why Catalina Foothills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Ford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 18 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 220 yards and a touchdown on only 17 passes. Boden Crane was another key contributor, rushing for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Conner Hangarner was on fire for Mica Mountain: he rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Hangarner was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
Catalina Foothills' loss was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 4-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Mica Mountain, Walden Grove, and Canyon del Oro. As for Mica Mountain, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Catalina Foothills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mica Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Snowflake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
