Basketball Recap: Jonesboro Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Whitehaven

Jonesboro is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Whitehaven. The Jonesboro Hurricane received a blow as they fell 54-40 to the Whitehaven Tigers. The match marked the Hurricane's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Jonesboro and nudges their season record down to 22-3. As for Whitehaven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will face off against North Little Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitehaven, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Memphis Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
