Union Grove and Big Sandy are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Lions will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Union Grove's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Big Sandy has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Union Grove fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Beckville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 20-17.

Meanwhile, Big Sandy scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by Hawkins 56-20. Surprisingly, this marked the Wildcats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Union Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Big Sandy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Union Grove beat Big Sandy 34-24 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wildcats' Lurbryson Ross, who rushed for 207 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Lions to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
