Baseball Recap: Sierra Grande Takes a Loss

Sierra Grande was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sargent Farmers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Farmers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bryant Tijerina was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sierra Grande's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Sargent, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Sierra Grande will challenge Dove Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Sargent, they will host Cedaredge at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
