Softball Game Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. Bauxite Miners

The Quitman Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Bauxite Miners at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Quitman will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Quitman saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Lonoke.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Bauxite's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to White Hall.

Bauxite got a good showing from Bianca Battistone, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Alysia Garner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Bauxite's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Quitman, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Quitman couldn't quite get it done against Bauxite in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can Quitman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
