Vinal RVT extends road losing streak to 13

This season hasn't been kind to the Vinal RVT Hawks, who are still winless after their 12th game. They took a serious blow against Cheney RVT on Friday, falling 72-39. While losing is never fun, Vinal RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Cheney RVT is ranked 28th).

Leading Cheney RVT to victory were Kanye Pitts and Mohamed Camara. Pitts scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Camara scored 22 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Pitts scored 15 or more points. Isaiah Williams was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Vinal RVT dropped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cheney RVT, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vinal RVT will take on Harvard Ellis Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvard Ellis Tech has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19. As for Cheney RVT, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Manchester at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st.
