Preview: Northside Eagles vs. Howard Huskies
Northside is on a five-game streak of home losses, Howard a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Northside Eagles will take on the Howard Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, Northside came up short against Houston County and fell 74-66. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northside in their matchups with Houston County: they've now lost eight in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Chastan Brown, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Riley, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Howard also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Spalding by a score of 72-64.
Northside has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Howard, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Northside was able to grind out a solid win over Howard when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 55-46. Does Northside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Howard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
