Softball Recap: HCYA Comes Up Short

HCYA didn't have quite enough to beat the St. John's Mavericks on Thursday and fell 10-9. HCYA has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kiran Kyham led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Yanaia Scott was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

HCYA's loss dropped their record down to 22-8-4. As for St. John's, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season.

HCYA will head out to square off against Lutheran South Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something HCYA surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. John's, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Kinkaid at 5:00 p.m.
