Football Recap: Holtville Piles Up the Points Against Brawley

Holtville had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They breezed past the Brawley Wildcats to the tune of 36-7. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 25 points or more this season.

Enrique Armas was his usual excellent self, rushing for 211 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season.

Holtville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Brawley to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. The team can thank Jackson Irungaray for the heroic effort on defense: he. Holtville wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.

Holtville's defense didn't let Noah Castro, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Fernando Yurem refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Holtville's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Brawley, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.
