Softball Preview: Oregon City Pioneers vs. Tigard Tigers
The Oregon City Pioneers will venture away from home to square off against the Tigard Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Oregon City turned things around against West Linn on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Lions.
Ellie Joseph spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sophie Funnemark was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Stromme, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Tigard not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Lake Oswego.
Oregon City picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Tigard, their record is now 5-7.
