Baseball Recap: Addison Comes Up Short

Addison had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it four. They came up short against the Manchester Flying Dutchmen, falling 14-2. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying Dutchmen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Addison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Wright, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Manchester, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Manchester's side, Trent Line spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Ben Pauly and Neil Gebhardt did most of the damage at the plate: Pauly went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Gebhardt went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Gebhardt is becoming a predictor of Manchester's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Chace Conklin was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
