Preview: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Friendswood Mustangs
The La Porte Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Friendswood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
La Porte had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Angleton by a score of 76-65 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Phillip Ned continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Trent Callies was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, even though Manvel scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Friendswood still came out on top. Friendswood took their contest against Manvel 67-60. Winning may never get old, but Friendswood sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
La Porte's victory bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Friendswood, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-9.
La Porte came up short against Friendswood in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 61-51. Can La Porte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
