Volleyball Recap: Arlington Eagles vs. Glacier Peak Grizzlies
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Arlington and Glacier Peak, and Glacier Peak kept the tradition alive. The Eagles fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Arlington sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-27, 15-12.
Emme Shaffer paced Arlington's offense, picking up 17 kills. Shaffer got some help from Audrey Marsh and her 13 assists. Grace Armes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Marcy Mossburg went supernova For Glacier Peak., getting 26 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Mossburg a new career-high. Chloe Gustafson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Arlington now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Glacier Peak, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-2 record this season.
Arlington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Shorecrest on the 23rd. As for Glacier Peak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Everett on the 20th.
