Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Drops Season-High Score on South Choctaw Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sparta Academy). They strolled past the South Choctaw Academy Rebels with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-43. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.

Sparta Academy can attribute much of their success to Krisalyn Johnson, who went 8 of 17 en route to 18 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Those 18 points gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Salter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Sparta Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for South Choctaw Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Looking ahead, Sparta Academy will challenge North River Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Sparta Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. South Choctaw Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
