Soccer Game Preview: Wheaton vs. Bethesda-Chevy Chase + How To Watch

The Wheaton Knights will head out to square off against the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wheaton took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Poolesville get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethesda-Chevy Chase). Everything went their way against Northwood on Tuesday as they made off with a 9-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Bethesda-Chevy Chase's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Northwood are ranked 109th).

Wheaton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1-1.

Wheaton suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Bethesda-Chevy Chase in their previous matchup back in October of 2017. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
