Softball Recap: Gunn Takes a Loss

Gunn had lost eight straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-18 to make it nine. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Los Altos Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in April.

Tess Bogart was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Los Altos, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Los Altos' side, Makayla Mase and Lila Neugebauer did most of the damage at the plate: Mase got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Neugebauer went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Neugebauer has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Neal, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Gunn nor Los Altos have any future games scheduled.
