Basketball Recap: Covenant Academy Comes Up Short

Covenant Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-13. They were outmatched by the David Emanuel Academy Eagles and fell 67-24. The Rams lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 43-42 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Covenant Academy lost, don't look at Caroline Peed. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and five boards.

As for David Emanuel Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-9. That 43-point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

David Emanuel Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily McRae led the charge by putting up 14 points and six steals. With that strong performance, McRae is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Aubrey Williams was another key player, scoring 15 points and seven rebounds.

Covenant Academy has already played their next game, a 57-17 defeat against Fullington Academy on the 22nd. As for David Emanuel Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-48 victory against Thomas Jefferson Academy on the 20th.
