Basketball Game Preview: Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers vs. Conestoga Pioneers

The Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers will challenge the Conestoga Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Marple Newtown earned a 51-40 victory over Ridley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fightin' Tigers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Conestoga, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 69-44 margin over Harriton on Tuesday. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Rams are ranked 495th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marple Newtown has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Conestoga, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
