Basketball Recap: Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus lost against Perspectives Leadership/Technology back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus Ravens took a 64-46 bruising from the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Warriors are ranked 161st).

Perspectives Leadership/Technology's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Danalia Laredo, who went 10 of 12 on her way to 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Laredo continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karla Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.

Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus Ravens face off against the Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus is facing Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at the right time seeing as Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, they will take on Lane Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Perspectives Leadership/Technology has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
