Softball Recap: Northeast Jones Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bay Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northeast Jones). Everything went their way against the Bay Springs Bulldogs on Tuesday as the Northeast Jones Tigers made off with a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaylee Spencer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylinn Vice, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Northeast Jones pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast Jones' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Raleigh's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bay Springs, they will take on Richton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bay Springs is facing Richton at the right time seeing as Richton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
