Softball Recap: Spalding Jaguars vs. Upson-Lee Knights

Spalding never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Upson-Lee Knights. Considering the Jaguars have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Macie Robertson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Webb, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Spalding didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with five strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upson-Lee only tossed two.

Spalding's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Upson-Lee, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Spalding will head out on the road to face off against Peach County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Peach County: 2.1, Spalding: 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Upson-Lee, they are taking a road trip to square off against Howard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Howard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
