Baseball Recap: Culver Academies' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Culver Academies dropped their record down to 15-4 on Saturday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They lost 23-8 to the Boone Grove Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Boone Grove, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by nine runs or more this season.

For Boone Grove's part, the team relied heavily on Tristan Wilson, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Maxwell Truby, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Coming up, Culver Academies will take on North Judson-San Pierre at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluejays have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Boone Grove, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on 21st Century Charter at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th.
