Recap: Carlynton Cougars vs. Quaker Valley Quakers
The Carlynton Cougars were the 76-64 winner over the Quaker Valley Quakers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Carlynton took a serious blow against Quaker Valley on Saturday, falling 66-37. Carlynton found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 20 fewer assists than your opponent.
Jake Moldovan and Ryan Lewis certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Moldovan scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds, while Lewis scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Quaker Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joey Coyle, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Washington, who scored 15 points.
Carlynton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Quaker Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlynton will square off against Sto-Rox at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sto-Rox and Carlynton are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Quaker Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Knoch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
