Softball Game Preview: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots vs. Clairemont Chieftains

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots will head out to face off against the Clairemont Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy of Our Lady of Peace is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace fell victim to Escondido Charter and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Garcia's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Point Loma, falling 14-4.

Lucy Brickner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Maddy Finley was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Clairemont, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace came out on top in a nail-biter against Clairemont in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Pilots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chieftains turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
