Basketball Recap: Foshay Drops Season-High Score on New West Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foshay). They blew past the New West Charter Eagles 81-45 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 61-54 loss.

Foshay was led to victory by Shomare' Gray and Peter Egwurube. Gray posted 29 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Egwurube dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Egwurube is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Julian Chavez was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven boards and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Foshay was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

New West Charter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of AJ Lee, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds, and Lior Einhorn, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points.

Foshay's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for New West Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foshay will face off against Animo South Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New West Charter, they will challenge Horace Mann UCLA Community at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
