The biggest upset of the week belonged to Jefferson, who took down 202nd ranked Auburn Riverside, 31-30.
Kentwood extended the longest winning streak in 4A SPSL - North this week by beating Kentridge, 38-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
The Ravens' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kevin Thomsen threw for 113 yards and Michael Robinson had 51 yards receiving. On the ground Joey Lucchesi chipped in 121 yards. Adam Hanes helped Auburn Riverside's passing attack out by catching two balls for 27 yards.
Hanes made the biggest impact on defense this week as Auburn Riverside lost to the Raiders. The senior grabbed one interception and recorded one fumble.
On the ground, Kent-Meridian's Quincy Carter has rushed for 421 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cartez Green. The Kent-Meridian star has 19 catches for 373 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Bob Morgan's team and the Royals face off next week. Timmy Cordova has dominated opposing QBs with a total of three sacks, while Thomsen has 713 passing yards and five touchdowns on the season.
A big matchup in 4A SPSL - North this week will be when Auburn takes on Jefferson. The Trojans are in second place, while the Raiders are in sixth place.
There should be lots of points scored when Kent-Meridian and the Ravens face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Brett Allen's team comes in having scored 76 this season, while Auburn Riverside has scored 135. The Royals scored 15 points last week as they fell to Spanaway Lake.
Tahoma took down Mt. Rainier 55-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
