Baseball Recap: Knox Central Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Knox Central dropped their record down to 11-12 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Bell County Bobcats by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Grant Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Knox Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Bargo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Bell County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.

On Bell County's side, Blake Burnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Brock, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ayden Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As of now, neither Knox Central nor Bell County have any future games scheduled.
