Football Game Preview: Mona Shores Sailors vs. Muskegon Big Reds

Mona Shores is 2-8 against Muskegon since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sailors will look to defend their home field against the Big Reds at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Mona Shores came up short against Byron Center and fell 42-35.

Meanwhile, Muskegon waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 40-21. Given the Big Reds' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Huskies are ranked 90th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mona Shores' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Muskegon, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Mona Shores strolled past Muskegon in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a score of 42-27. Will the Sailors repeat their success, or do the Big Reds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
