Recap: Shakamak Lakers vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings

The Shakamak Lakers lost against the Barr-Reeve Vikings back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Shakamak was dealt a 70-29 loss at the hands of Barr-Reeve. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Shakamak has scored all season.

It was another big night for Seth Wagler, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Barr-Reeve. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Braydon Knepp was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists.

Shakamak bumped their record down to 6-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Barr-Reeve, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Shakamak won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eminence on January 5th. Eminence has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Barr-Reeve, they will take on White River Valley at TBD on Saturday. White River Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
