Baseball Game Preview: Kent-Meridian Royals vs. White River Hornets

For the second straight game, Kent-Meridian will face off against White River. The Royals will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Kent-Meridian hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Kent-Meridian's offense. They came up short against White River on Wednesday, falling 12-0.

For White River's part, Landon Hill made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hill was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jackson Rock was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Caleb Dale, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI and one triple.

White River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kent-Meridian only posted an OBP of .176.

Kent-Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for White River, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.
