Basketball Recap: Nordonia Takes a Loss

Nordonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 59-43 fall against the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Bees are ranked 36th).

Brecksville-Broadview Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashley Perdion, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points along with six boards and three blocks. Perdion is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessie Zenir, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Nordonia's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Nordonia will welcome Stow-Munroe Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they will head out on the road to take on Twinsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.
