Basketball Recap: Webster Takes a Loss

Webster lost against Groton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Webster Bearcats took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Groton Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Tigers are ranked 19th).

Webster now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Groton, their record is now 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Webster Bearcats face off against the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Groton has already played their next contest (against Florence/Henry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
