Volleyball Recap: Saint Ignatius College Prep Comes Up Short

Saint Ignatius College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the St. Rita Mustangs. If the Wolfpack were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Saint Ignatius College Prep was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 27-25.

Ben Corbitt paced Saint Ignatius College Prep's offense, picking up five kills. Corbitt got some help from Campbell Hahn and his 14 assists. Charlie Wangard controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Saint Ignatius College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for St. Rita, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-18 record.

Coming up, Saint Ignatius College Prep will host Payton College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Rita, they will head out to square off against Brother Rice at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
