Softball Preview: Lunenburg Central Chargers vs. Cumberland Dukes

Lunenburg Central scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Nottoway with a sharp 8-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Tristan Buchanan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Buchanan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Buchanan was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayley Stokes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base. Livi Moses was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
