Basketball Game Preview: La Puente Warriors vs. Bassett Olympians

The La Puente Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Bassett Olympians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Puente has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests.

On Tuesday, La Puente beat Edgewood 60-47.

Meanwhile, Bassett had to suffer through a 80-47 loss at the hands of Workman. While losing is never fun, the Olympians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1089th, while the Lobos are ranked 309th).

La Puente's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Bassett, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

La Puente strolled past Bassett in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 52-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Puente since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
