The Tooele Buffaloes will venture away from home to face off against the Skyline Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tooele is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
Tooele is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sky View on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Buffaloes took a blow against the Bobcats, falling 55-27. The Buffaloes were down 55-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gus Pater, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Mavrik Chlarson was in the mix too, providing Tooele with two scores.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Skyline made sure to put some points up on the board against Murray on Thursday. The Eagles took their matchup with ease, bagging a 45-17 victory over the Spartans. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.
Tooele better keep an eye on Xavier Cocci. He was instrumental in Skyline's win, rushing for 135 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 341 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. Those 135 rushing yards gave Cocci a new career-high. Jonah Mailei also helped out as he racked up 127 rushing yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Skyline proved: they limited Murray to a paltry 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Peyton Carter for the heroic effort on defense: he. Skyline didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.3.
Skyline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carter and Liam Whitworth. Carter is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made ten or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Skyline got some further help from Cash Grandon: he made 20 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Skyline's record is now 7-3. As for Tooele, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
